This poster was printed in 1972 to promote the release of the animated film “Fritz the Cat,” directed by Ralph Bakshi. The film is based on the comic strip by Robert Crumb. “Fritz the Cat” was the first ever animated film to receive an X rating. It was a very controversial film at the time due to the animation colliding with adult themes and content.
